Paratha (Flaky South Asian Flatbread)

Ingredients

All-purpose flour or Atta - 2 Cups
Salt - 1 Tbsp.
Clarified Butter - ½ Cup
Water - As Required

Preparation
1. In a bowl mix together flour, clarified butter and salt. Now add water to the flour and mix until smooth dough is prepared.
2. Cover the dough with damp cloth and allow it to rest for at least 30 Min.
3. Next divide the dough into 4-6 equal portions.
4. Dip dough ball in flour and roll it using rolling pin into roti or flat bread.
5. Now apply clarified butter to the roti with brush. Roll the roti as shown in image horizontally.
6. Now gently start rolling like a coil as shown in image
7. Dust the coil with flour and roll into flat bread.
8. Heat oil or butter in a pan. When pan is hot place paratha on the pan and fry it on medium flame. As it has layers it will take time to fry. Fry on both sides using excess oil or butter if required.
9. Once crispy flaky layered flat bread is ready serve it hot with any curries like Chicken curry, Mutton curry , Aloo curry … etc.
